Athisayam Theme park
This is an artificial water park in Madurai- Dindugal main road, which is 15 Km away from Madurai. The entrance fee for adults is Rs.200 and for children it’s Rs.150.
Rajaji Park
The corporation of Madurai maintains this park. It is located near the corporation office. It is named after the great Rajagopalchariar (Rajaji). The entrance fee for the park is Rupee one.
VAIGAI DAM
The next beautiful site to watch is a beautiful dam, which surrounds near a 69 Kms hill. This is the Vaigai dam, which is on the way to Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary from Madurai. The dam has an outer garden. Lot of tourists visits this spot. There is this Suruli waterfall, which is 128 Km away from Madurai on the way to Thekkady.
Kuttadampatti Water falls
This waterfall is 36 Km away to Kodaikanal. There is an amusement park, in Sirumalai. The total land area is 7 Km. This is near vadipatti. The falls is of 87 feet’s in height. Thousands of tourists flock in during the holidays and festive days. There is a 500 years old temple which is dedicated to Goddess Thadagai Nachiamman.
Gandhi Museum
This Museum is found in the old Rani Mangammal palace. The pictures of the freedom struggle and the gallery of the Gandhian movement are preserved here. There are also sections of relics, Khadi and Village industries and South Indian handicrafts as well. The visitors are allowed everyday from 10 am - 1 pm and then 2 pm - 6 pm.
Government Museum
This
government museum is located in the Gandhi Museum. This was established
during the 5th world Tamil conference of 1981. Every Fridays and second
Saturdays of a month are holidays. The visiting time in this museum is
same as that of the Gandhi Museum.
